Make Your Own Luxurious Peppermint Body Scrub

I just tried out this scrub and I looove it! It smells so refreshing and leaves my skin really soft. | The Refreshanista

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed I love to make scrubs, like this one, this one, and this one. It’s just so easy to make them, you really only need an oil and sugar or salt. Add a few drops of essential oil and you’re set! What a difference in the ingredients list compared to the long list of chemicals found in store-bought body scrubs. So unnecessary!

I like to use coconut oil as my base. It’s extremely moisturizing, so after the sugar has scrubbed away dry skin and you rinse off, your skin is soft and smooth. It’s really great in the winter months, I have the worst time with dry, flaky skin all over so a coconut oil body scrub is the perfect remedy for me!

This scrub is lightly minty and, combined with the sugar, smells like candy canes! It’s a very refreshing smell in the shower, perfect for waking you up in the morning. If you want an even more invigorating scent, go ahead and add a couple extra drops of peppermint oil 😉

You can keep this scrub in an air-tight container close to your shower so it’s ready for you to use. Just scoop some out, massage onto damp skin, and enjoy!

This body scrub would also make a great gift! It only takes a couple minutes to make- tie a pretty ribbon around the jar and it’s ready for gifting!

Luxurious Peppermint Body Scrub

Author Melanie Maxwell

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil softened (if yours is rock hard like mine was, just warm it up a bit in a water bath)
  • 10 drops of peppermint essential oil

Instructions

  1. Simply stir together all ingredients until thoroughly combined and store in an airtight container. To use, massage a small amount onto damp skin and rinse off.
  2. The coconut oil can make the tub a little more slippery than usual so just be a bit cautious.

Happy scrubbing!

Melanie
