DIY Coconut & Sugar Scrub

DIY Coconut & Sugar Scrub- a face scrub that's super easy to make with just a few all-natural ingredients! This scrub leaves you with soft, smooth skin. | The Refreshanista

Super excited to share this scrub recipe with you all! I love scrubs, especially face scrubs. I find that my skin is so flaky and blotchy after a long cold winter, it needs some refreshing! I have tried so many different scrubs, I think I probably have 5 in my shower at all times.

Honestly, I think I may be a scrub addict…. but let’s keep that between you and me 😉

The best scrubs are the homemade ones. I love them because you can make little adjustments to suit your skin perfectly and you don’t have to worry about a super long list of unrecognizable ingredients!

Here is one of my favourite recipes, it’s good for all types of skin- the coconut oil moisturizes, the sugar scrubs away dry skin, and the tea tree oil fights acne with its antibacterial properties.

DIY Coconut & Sugar Scrub

Author Melanie Maxwell

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon of raw sugar {you can use other sugars but raw sugar gives the best scrubbing action}
  • 1 teaspoon of virgin coconut oil {use solid coconut oil, you may need to chill your jar in the fridge if it's a hot day}
  • 5 drops of 100% tea tree oil

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a small bowl and mix until well-combined. Before applying, make sure your face is clean and dry. Then, using circular motions, gently massage onto your face with your fingertips.
  2. Next, leave scrub for 5-10 minutes so your skin can soak up the benefits. A slight tingling sensation is normal.
  3. Rinse off with warm water and dry your face with a clean face cloth. No need for moisturizer, the coconut oil will leave your face soft and hydrated.

Happy Scrubbing!
