5-Ingredient Blueberry-Hazelnut Dark Chocolate Bark

Raise your hand if you love chocolate!!! I’m raising both hands 😉 Chocolate is the perfect treat and making your own is even tastier! I’m sure you’ve heard that dark chocolate is healthy for you, from the high cocoa content. This recipe uses cacao powder for maximum health benefits, combined with coconut oil for smoothness plus even more health benefits! I added blueberries and hazelnuts for a bit of sweet tartness and warm toastiness, it’s a really great flavour combination- especially as a dark chocolate bark.

I don’t know if it’s the high sugar content or the mild flavour, but milk chocolate candy bars make it sooo easy to overdo it. Dark chocolate though, is very rich and a few pieces is enough to satisfy that chocolate craving. So treat yo’self with some dark chocolate 😉 it’s healthy after all!

Even if you don’t like dark chocolate, I bet you will love this bark. My husband loves everything as sugary as possible and hates dark chocolate. He ended up eating ALL of this bark! He said it wasn’t bitter like other dark chocolate he has tried. I credit this to using maple syrup as the sweetener. It has a deep, sweet flavour that gives the chocolate a smooth taste rather than a bitter taste.


5-Ingredient Blueberry-Hazelnut Dark Chocolate Bark

Prep Time 40 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

  • 1 cup of hazelnuts
  • 1 cup of coconut oil melted
  • 1 cup of cacao or cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup of blueberries room temperature


  1. Preheat oven to 350Place hazelnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until skins split, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and place hazelnuts in a dish towel. Rub the hazelnuts in the dish towel to remove the skins as best as you can.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet or tray by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together coconut oil, cacao powder, and maple syrup.Gently mix in blueberries and hazelnuts. Pour mixture onto your parchment paper-lined tray and freeze for 30 minutes. Break apart and enjoy!
  4. Store in the refrigerator.
